During the Kumbh Mela, Mahant Kamalgiriji, like most of his fellow sadhus, sits close to a fire in his tented encampment, smokes, meditates and receives the curious and the faithful.

This photo catches the beauty and simplicity of spiritual pursuit. The inanimate imagery in their environment, the reflection of that imagery in their practice and ritual and the subtle sensitivity and spiritual expansion shown in their dress, posture and movement, what a rich and beautiful artistic photograph.
