I love the painterly qualities in this photograph of a young man at the beginning of his journey of self discovery. The young man turns is head away from us, it is difficult to tell whether out of modesty or a young man's diffidence (perhap both). But in doing so reveals his neck and becomes more vulnerable to the viewer.
