If you dive into a swimming pool you naturally get wet. No argument there, but if you immerse yourself in the lives of spiritual people for extended periods do you in turn become spiritual yourself?

Many visitors to the Dal Lake just see the tourist side of it.   The is though a whole commercial and merchant aspect too: a market, fishermen, small industries and shops all serving the lake community.  Everything is available on the lake, and small market gardens sit on reclaimed land. 

A throw-away line completely opened my eyes to what was actually going on around me.  "Nick, where's the bin?" I asked, as I wandered around the room looking for somewhere into which to deposit a plastic bag and its contents.  "There isn't one," he nonchalantly replied, "and nor is there anywhere on the camp." ...
