New Website Explores Sikh History through Multimedia and Photography

UKPHA.gifReliable and detailed information about the Nihang Singhs and Sikh history is notoriously sparse.  The UK Punjab Heritage Association, however, led by Amandeep Singh Madra and Parmjit Singh, has been developing a series of websites to promote and educate the people at large about Sikh culture and history...

Check out www.punjabheritagelectures.org, and particularly the section "A Picture of the Sikhs", by Parmjit Singh, for an extensive multimedia slideshow presentation including some fascinating photography of Nihang Singhs and other Sikhs from the 19th and earlier 20th centuries.

The UKPHA's latest project explores the Anglo-Sikh relationship over 200 years - a relationship that has touched and shaped the lives of millions.  For more info check out http://www.punjabheritage. org/cultural-heritage/empire-faith-and-kinship-150-years-of-the-anglo-sikh-relationship.html.

The UKPHA is headed by Amandeep Singh Madra and Parmjit Singh who are the authors of Sikhs, Tigers of Thieves.  All of the UKPHA projects can be reached via www.ukpha.org.
